Well our pals the Roots have been busy this week—today they posted a preview of the retro photo shoot we did at California Adventure just before we all went to Hawaii for our Aulani vow renewal.
I’d been itching to do a vintage photo shoot on Buena Vista Street since the day it opened. Because the fashions of the late-’20s and the ’30s don’t work on my ’50s figure, I split the difference and we went for a 1940s look.
Patrick couldn’t get over the super-high waist on his pants at first, but they were the genesis of yet another wacky character (see also: Harrison Hightower). Meanwhile, I had a love-hate relationship with my shoes, which were simultaneously a-friggin-dorable and un-friggin-comfortable!
Check out the rest of our preview pics over on the Roots’ blog!

You terrible tease! I seriously cannot wait to see/read/be eaten alive with jealously by…your trip report!
LOL! Oh geez, I wasn’t even gonna do one about this part of the trip… Hmmmm… you may have just added 3 months to my writing schedule
I love the sneaks! Your hair looks wonderful and your shoes are adorable! You’re making me want another shoot.
I’ll be sure to tell Mike!
Yay and please also tell him that you’ll style the shoot. Thanks!
LOL!
Yes! You have to atleast share the rest of your pictures! They look too amazing to keep to yourselves!
Oh yes, when I get them, I totally will!
You look awesome in that outfit, loving the hair.
Hey, thanks!
Totally gorgeous! I can’t wait to see all the pics from this shoot and Aulani. I have that same 50′s figure, and I love your dress.
Thanks!
