Halloween at Dick Van Dyke’s House: A Retrospective

October 31, 2013

For the last five years, we’ve had the good fortune to be part of the team of volunteers helping Dick Van Dyke pull off his annual Halloween display in Malibu. It gets bigger and more elaborate every year, which is maybe why he decided to take a break this Halloween and celebrate with a private party instead (check out his Twitter feed and his wife’s Twitter feed, plus this article, for shots from the event last Saturday).

So while I don’t have any new photos and video for you, here’s a retrospective of the three Halloweens we documented at Dick Van Dyke’s House of Horrors…

I hope you two had a fun Halloween despite not having decor duties at DVD’s.

Yes! We got to see Danny Elfman perform the songs from “Nightmare Before Christmas,” and Catherine O’Hara even joined him to sing Sally’s part. It was awesome! Hope you had a happy Halloween too!

Excellent save…lemons into lemonade and all that…keeping up the tradition. But what about the Danny Elfman pics? Or is that too greedy

LOL! All we have are grainy cell phone shots of the giant screen directly above our heads in the cheap seats, so it mostly all looks like this… http://t.co/xho7PA7zeT
