Basic Disney Cake Photos

For complete details on ordering a cake at Walt Disney World, CLICK HERE!

While some of the Deluxe Resort bakeries can turn out elaborate, fondant-covered cakes, most locations on property offer only simple chocolate or vanilla cakes. Pictured below are examples of the basic cakes you can get just about anywhere at Walt Disney World (Epcot’s France, China, Morocco, Mexico, Japan and Italy Pavilions, as well as Coronado Springs Resort, are the exceptions).

Mickey Mouse Celebration Cakes

Where can I get one?
Any Disney-owned and -operated table-service restaurant or any Deluxe Resort with Private Dining. This means that in Epcot the cakes are only available in the Canada, UK, America, Germany and Norway pavilions, plus Future World. It also means you can’t get one at Be Our Guest Restaurant at lunchtime because there is no table service at that time.

How much are they?
$39 plus tax and gratuity (if applicable)

How many people do they feed?
4 to 6 people.

Which flavors are available?
All-chocolate or all-white-chocolate only.

What’s inside the cake?

Photos are in THIS POST.

Are they allergy-friendly?
No. The cakes contain gluten and milk, and they are produced in a facility that contains peanuts and tree nuts. Disney refers most allergy-friendly cake requests to Erin McKenna’s Bakery at Downtown Disney. See Post # 1 for more information.

Can I get a message written on them?

Only “Happy Birthday” or “Congratulations” are available; they write it on the chocolate ears.

How do I order one?
Call 1-407-WDW-DINE or inquire in person at a Walt Disney World Resort concierge desk or restaurant podium.

How far in advance do I have to order?
Day-of quantities are limited, so make arrangements prior to dining. 72–48 hours ahead is a good idea.

Do I have to pay in advance?
Not if you have a confirmed dining reservation.

Other Basic Cakes

Note that the designs pictured below are specific to cakes made by the Contemporary Resort, which also services Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge. The decorations on standard cakes ordered elsewhere at Walt Disney World may vary (although the Mickey Mouse cake looks the same everywhere).

My adult daughter and I are going to WDW for her 44th birthday in May 2022. I would love to get her a cake but want to know if I can get one with Captain Hook on it as Captain Hook is her favorite character and has been all her life. Is this possible?
    Thanks!

That should be doable—it really depends on which screen prints the pastry team has access to. Your best bet is to call the resort where you will be dining or staying and see what they have available. Right now only the Grand Floridian, Contemporary and Yacht & Beach Club are doing custom cakes (hopefully more will be doing this by May!). You can get their phone numbers here: https://disneytravelbabble.com/how-to/order-cake/by-location/

The photos on this page are the only standard cakes Disney offers. For any other design, you would just ask them for a custom cake and submit photos of what you want it to look like (or a description). I’d start calling POFQ now because it can take a while to track down a real person at the Value and Moderate resorts. The number is on this page: https://disneytravelbabble.com/how-to/order-cake/by-location/

Will be in Disney September 22 through the 27 staying at AOA Cars family suite. The trip is for my son’s 8th bday and my mom will turn 68 on the 25th. We are eating at the Grand Floridian Cafe on the 25th. I would love to order a cake and have it sent to our room and have it waiting on her as a surprise due to there being a good chance that we will not be headed directly back to the resort after dinner. What is my best option?

Call Art of Animation at the number listed on this page: https://disneytravelbabble.com/how-to/order-cake/by-location/#aoa I’d start ASAP so you have time to work out the details. And if you don’t hear back within 3 days, call again. Wosrt-case scenario, the Grand Floridian can make you something with 3 days’ notice, but it would have to be delivered to your meal at GFC.

Just wanted to give you a heads up that the info for your allergy friendly cakes is not up to date. They are not $29. That may have been the case before partnering with Erin McKenna’s. However, I just got off of the phone with the Disney Cake Line. Once you finally get to choose the allergy friendly option, it transfers you directly to Erin McKenna’s. Their 6 inch cake delivered to a participating Disney restaurant is $52 & they add it to your restaurant check. However, if you order directly from Erin McKenna’s and pick it up yourself at Disney Springs, it’s $59.

Holy moley, that’s quite a price jump! Thanks for the info!

You’re welcome! Just wanted to make sure others weren’t disappointed when they called & found out. It’s still a fairly reasonable price (comparing it to other allergy friendly bakeries), but a lot more than some people expect to pay off the top of their head.

Has anyone gotten a custom cake at Via Napoli. If you would have pictures to share that would be even better!

Hi Bethany! Via Napoli doesn’t offer custom cakes. They have four standard types of cake to choose from, and in 10 years of following the DISboards’ Cake Chatter thread, I’ve never seen anyone mention ordering any of them. You can read about their standard options on the Cake Options By Location page.

I am trying to do a surprise anniversary family trip when I return from my deployment in Iraq. As much as this is a family trip, I want to make sure my wife knows I haven’t forgot about our anniversary. Is it possible to have a cake waiting in our room, for our arrival, at the all-star movie resort?

    • Carrie
      August 18, 2017

Hi Dusty! Thank you for your service to our country! What a sweet idea for your wife. Supposedly they can now put cakes in the rooms before you arrive as long as you have pre-checked-in online. All-Stars are a little tricky, though, because they don’t have a Private Dining Department. So getting a cake delivered to your room can sometimes take a long game of phone tag: First, trying to get someone to call you back so you can place an order, then waiting for them to relay all your info to BoardWalk Bakery (unfortunately, you can’t order directly from BWB for delivery to the All-Stars), then finding out the price and arranging delivery. If you can’t get a call back after leaving multiple messages, sometimes you have to call the main number for the resort, explain what you’re trying to do, and hope you’ve gotten a CM who is persistent enough to help you track down the right person. Which is all to say, it might be easier if you had the cake delivered to a restaurant serviced by a Deluxe resort like the Contemporary or the Grand Floridian. You can find ordering info here: https://disneytravelbabble.com/how-to/order-cake/by-location/

Ooh! I just had another idea! It is way overpriced, but a more reliable way to ensure you’ll have the cake when you want it could be to order this basic all-vanilla or all-chocolate cake via Disney Floral & Gifts. That way you could place your order online and know for sure it will be delivered to your room that day (though it doesn’t look like you can specify a time): http://disneyworld.disneyfloralandgifts.com/product/mickey’s+celebration+cake.do?

Hi! The photos and information on this site are only for cakes made at and delivered to Walt Disney World, unfortunately. Disney does not ship its cakes. However, you could do a Google search for Olaf Cakes and then show the photos to a local bakery as inspiration!
