Hi, I have your fairytale weddings guide but it does not have information about the monterrey room listed. At least none that I could find. What are the minimums for this room and how many does it hold?
The Monterey Room is controlled by California Grill, not Disney Catered Events, so I don’t have any info on pricing or capacities. If you book through Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings or Disney Catered Events, they will offer you Napa, Sonoma or the main dining room.
So, like a private dinner, but no other “enhancements”, like the Napa or Sonoma would have?
Right. I mean, you might be able to add floral and decor directly through the Disney Florist, but it’s more like making a large group reservation than planning a whole catered event.
This may be in bad taste to comment in a section unrelated to what the question is asking, but there was no comment option under the Summerhouse pictures. I apologize. However, I really like the Summerhouse, but I have seen images of recent construction taking place for a new wing of the Grand Floridian as well as what seems to be a new splash play area that takes up half the beach out onto which the Summerhouse looks. Do you know anything about this? Does that mean if we had a reception at that venue we would hear constant screams from playful children? (We would want to have a brunch or lunch buffet.) Also, it seems like the new wing might obstruct the view from the Summerhouse to the Wedding Pavilion which might have made for nice pictures otherwise. Thank you!
First, thanks for pointing that out—I need to go through and make sure comments are enabled on all these pages! I haven’t seen it in person yet, but it sure does look like the Summerhouse’s outdoor area has been reduced by the water-play area. I can guarantee you will hear kids screaming at that distance, and I’m sure that if Disney is still offering this as a venue, they are being sure to let people know so they can decide if it’s the right spot for them. I’ll try to get new pictures next time I’m out there.
Will they remove the existing tables and add rounds of 10? To possibly make the total 50? The view is beautiful. Thank you!
This might be a possibility, but Disney usually charges hefty fees (like, $500-$2,000) for removing existing furniture. So I’d get a quote from an event coordinator on that before getting too far into planning…
