Can Disney do either a Frozen or Maleficent cake at the Liberty tree Traven?

Do you want a screen print or something more elaborate? If you just want a screen print of these characters, yes. If it’s something more elaborate, you’ll need to get the Magic Kingdom Cakes department to let you work with the Contemporary pastry team on the cake.

Hi Carrie! Thank you for all this great advice! We are having our wedding celebration dinner at Flying Fish. Would it be easier to just pick up a cake at the boardwalk bakery or is it possible to coordinate a delivery to Flying Fish? We are actually just thinking a plain Mickey cake 🙂

    Thank you!

    • Carrie
      October 8, 2014

Yes! BoardWalk Bakery makes the cakes for all the restaurants on the BoardWalk, so you can call Private Dining at BWI and order a cake for delivery to Flying Fish. There is no delivery charge, just tax.

Great! That is our plan as of now… our only alternative plan is possibly a restaurant in Epcot that isn’t park of Disney catering… do you think they would let us bring in a Mickey Cake if we walked over to Boardwalk to pick it up and walked back with it?

        • Carrie
          October 16, 2014

That shouldn’t be a problem. 🙂 They just don’t want you storing a cake they didn’t make in their fridge.

Hi I am needing some help. We will be at Disney in Oct and we will be celebrating my daughter’s sweet 16 bday. I am wanting to do 2 cakes during our stay. I would like to have a mini cake sent to All Stars Music, and the 2nd one I want a custom sweet 16 cake sent to Maya Grill. I have read all the info above and was wondering can I get the mini cake for All Stars even though it is not listed and what type of designs can I get for the one at Maya Grill. Thanks for all your help.

    • Carrie
      September 2, 2014

Hi! The reason minicakes aren’t listed for the All Stars is that they were not offered the last time I called to check. You can certainly call and see if they’ve started, though. Coronado Springs doesn’t offer custom cake decoration on those standard types of cakes I listed. The mini versions look like this, this and this, if that gives you an idea what the full cake might look like…

Thank you so much for all of your help!
    I greatly appreciate it!
I’ll call the number you provided me with as soon as I can. If they can’t deliver it to the cabin, it’s no big deal, we have both dinner and breakfast reservations at Trail’s End (it’s our favorite restaurant) Yum!

    Hello!
I am interested in purchasing a 10-inch cake for my Mom’s 40th birthday. I understand that I am able to have a character image put on it. Could you possibly tell me if there is an “Eeyore” image, if so could you tell me how much extra it would cost.
Also, since we will be staying in Ft. Wilderness, could we have the cake delivered to our cabin?
    Thanks!

    • Carrie
      July 14, 2014

Hi! You’ll need to get in touch with the bakery that will be making the cake to see what images they have on file, or you can send in your own image. In the past they have not been allowed to do Pooh characters, but that might’ve changed, so it’s best to call and get the info straight from the source. The number to call is 407-824-2090. If for some reason they can’t deliver it to your cabin, they’ll have you pick it up at Trail’s End.

    Hi!
I am looking to possibly get a mini cake made for my mom’s 50th birthday in December. We are staying at the Art of Animation hotel. I have heard that the cake can be made by the Yacht and Beach resort, I have a few questions though. 1. Is there a delivery fee to have it brought to our room? 2. If so, how much is it? 3. We may not be getting back to our room till almost 8pm that day or possibly later. Will they deliver that late?

    Thank you in advance!

    • Carrie
      June 23, 2014

      Hi Kristin!
Cakes for AOA are made by the Yacht & Beach Club but the order must be placed via AOA. And because of that, there is no delivery fee. When I ordered my cake for AOA, I believe the latest they said they could bring it by was 9pm. Hope this helps!

Hello, I am traveling to WDW in June and I will be ordering a Graduation for our son! They look so yummy! My question to you is…where can I find the 6 inch bottom and plastic dome that is featured on this Disney web site? I am getting married and we would like to have small mini cakes made for our guests…I am marrying my first love after 37 years! It’s magical!

    http://disneyworld.disneyfloralandgifts.com/product/mickeyandpalsbigbirthdaywishkit.do?sortby=ourPicks&from=fn#
I have called the cake hot line and they are not aware of this web site or packaging! I asked who did the purchasing and they also did not know…can you help me find out where I can get 30 of these?
    Thank you,
    M

    • Carrie
      May 29, 2014

Hi Mary! If you are having a Disney’s Fairy Tale Wedding, you will work with your planner to arrange the mini cakes. You won’t need packaging because the cakes will be served on plates at the reception. If you mean that your wedding is elsewhere and you want to package the mini cakes as shown in the picture, the Cake Hotline will not be able to help you because the Disney bakeries do no package their cakes that way. You could try calling Disney Floral and Gifts (407-939-4438), since they are the ones who package cakes that way, but I’m not sure that one of their phone operators is going to know where they source their packaging. I think your best bet is just to Google for mini cake containers—there are some promising search results for “mini cake dome container”: https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&rlz=1C1OPRA_enUS582US582&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=mini+cake+dome+container&tbm=shop

Hi i want to order a mini cake for my 1 year old daughter. would they deliver it to the brown derby in hollywood studios and would i be able to make it toy story theme since its so small?

    • Carrie
      May 27, 2014

You’ll definitely need to call the number for Disney’s Hollywood Studios listed above. I have never seen them do a mini cake, but maybe no one’s ever asked! They will not be able to do much in the way of theming on a cake that small, but they might be able to screenprint a piece of white chocolate with an image and stand it up beside the cake. And maybe they could make the cake a sort of impression of Toy Story. The yellow ball with the red star and blue stripe would be great inspiration – a yellow mini cake with a red star on top and a blue band around it, maybe!

    Hello,
How far in advance do I need to order a cake?

    Thank you!

    • Carrie
      May 22, 2014

Different resorts have different rules, but it’s usually no later than 48-72 hours in advance. I usually give them 2 weeks’ notice, or 3 if I want something kind of complicated.

Hi, how would we go about ordering a cake for an anniversary celebration at the Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show?

    Thanks

    • Carrie
      April 7, 2014

Hi Brad! If you just want a simple buttercream cake, you can call the number for the Polynesian. If you want something fancier, you can call the Grand Floridian and they will deliver to the show. All the numbers are listed under the resort names on this page, and more detailed instructions are found HERE.

Hi! we are coming down 5/24 to the Animal Kingdom Lodge to celebrate my daughter’s 21st! We are also vacation club members since 1999. We have made dinner reservations every nite at a different restaurant. What options do we have if we want to order a custom cake to be at the restaurant the nite of her birthday (5/29.) thank you! dale philips

    • Carrie
      February 26, 2014

Hi Dale! It depends on which restaurant you’re dining at on the night of her birthday. Use the list on this page to find the park or resort where the restaurant is located. Then you’ll be able to see the basic options and a phone number to call for customized options.

    • Carrie
      February 18, 2014

Usually there is. After you email the address provided under Magic Kingdom, above, they will send you the standard options. Then you can email and ask about customization.

  • Soo confused...
    November 1, 2013

Hi, I will be there on 12 December eating at the Garden Grove, reservation is for 6:30. We have 8 people, and it is my cousin’s birthday (she will have her DL with her to prove it), I am soo lost as to where to call about a cake and which one to order. I don’t even know where Garden Grove is! Haha.

We will also be at the Coral Reef restaurant at 1pm… Not sure if we should do cake for lunch or dinner. But I know the Disney Characters are supposed to be at the Garden Grove? That’s why I booked it?

    Thanks in advance!

    • Carrie
      November 5, 2013

Hi! Garden Grove is at the Swan hotel, which is not owned by Disney so none of this cake info applies. You’d need to call the Swan to find out what your options are. So if you want a Disney made cake, you’d need to order it via Epcot for Coral Reef. Hope this helps!

I had an amazing cake made last year for my teen twins birthday celebration at O’hana. It was gorgeous with a music theme that included chocolate and white chocolate guitars and musical notes. Absolutely gorgeous!! Even the wait staff kept coming over to look at it! We are lucky enough to be able to celebrate at Disney again this year and they are requesting the same cake to be delivered to Narcoossees. I had to get a special order cake since one twin likes chocolate and one likes vanilla (go figure-lol). My question is..do they happen to keep records of what was ordered if it was custom? Long shot probably – but I figured I’d ask. I have pics but I don’t remember the frosting -maybe marbled ganache? PS..if this peeked anyone’s interest, it was right around $75 or $80 and worth every penny!

    • Carrie
      September 2, 2013

As far as I know, they don’t officially keep records, although the bakery does seem to take photos of some of its cakes. But you’ll be working with the same contact at Grand Floridian Private Dining, so perhaps she’ll remember!

Publix do lovely birthday cakes but you have to pick them up. Much cheaper than disney though and much more choice- my daughter requests one every year in wdw!

  • Jaimee Sanders
    August 2, 2013

Question? We are coming down to WDW in October and we want to make this a special birthday for our son who will be 8 and my father in law who will be 60. I am looking at the cake sizes, but we always get our birthday cakes from Publix which we always have left over cake, which we want. I am seeing the sizes, but can you have a cake custom made, like Monster Inc, or Pirates of the Carribean Pirate Ship? or any cake we would like and delivered to the restaurant. We will be dinning at at Magic Kingdom? We will be making our reservations tonight. I know about the cake hotline, but would I still have to go thru them?

    • Carrie
      August 2, 2013

Custom cakes are available in the same sizes (6-inch, 8-inch, 10-inch) as the standard cakes. You can work with the pastry team to customize the design to almost any theme (certain characters, like Pooh & Friends, are off-limits due to copyright restrictions). Unfortunately, if you want to order by phone, you do have to go through the Cake Hotline for the Magic Kingdom, but you can also send an email [email protected].

  • Sophie
    July 1, 2013

    Hi there!

Can character images be printed on 6″ cakes.

    Thanks
    Sophie

    • Carrie
      July 1, 2013

Unfortunately, they’re too small—they require you to order an 8-inch or larger for a screen print. But they do offer a white chocolate disc with a print of Mickey on it for most 6-inch cakes.

  • Matt
    June 5, 2013

When I call you for you to make my cake, can you make it with extra frosting? Also when you deliver it, can I request a Disney character to come along too?

**Sorry, had to make this comment based on the multitude of same question posts here 🙂 **

    • Carrie

LOL! Yeah, maybe I need a big, red disclaimer at the top explaining that *I* don’t make the cakes! 😀

  • Catherine
    June 3, 2013

Thanks Carrie–I know about the pastry team and have talked with one of the pastry chefs already. However I was inquiring about a CUSTOM cake. And they do not do anything custom there for what I need. So I was inquiring to see if any of the other bakery’s at Disney that make custom cake orders deliver to that resort.

    • Carrie
      June 3, 2013

No, Disney bakeries only deliver to resorts with food-service operations run by Disney. You would need to order a cake for a meal at one of those resorts or a theme park. Alternatively, you could order one for pickup at BoardWalk Bakery or see if a local bakery like It’s Tasty Too would deliver to your room/the restaurant.

We are staying at Coronado Springs Disney World for our anniversary in August. I was wondering if ANY of the bakery’s will make/deliver a custom cake for that resort.

We are having an anniversary dinner at the Maya Grill during our stay to celebrate anniversary–and a cake would make our anniversary extra special to celebrate with our family. Thank you!

    Hello,
I was wondering if I could get a cake delivered to my daughter’s room at Port Orleans Riverside while she is at Magic kingdom. It was meant to be a graduation surprise. Thank you

    • Carrie
      April 29, 2013

Yes, as long as she is checked in to her room at the time of delivery (they can’t deliver before you check in, so this won’t work if she isn’t planning to check in til after she gets back from the park). Just call the number listed above for Port Orleans Riverside.

My wife and I will celebrating our 25th anniversary at the yachtsman on June 25th. We will have a party of seven. I would like to surprise my wife with an anniversary cake . April 13, 2013

Congratulations! If you scroll up a bit, you’ll find the Yacht & Beach Club on the list of Disney parks and resorts, along with the phone number to call and the basic options. Everything is customizable, though, and you can email inspiration photos or a description for the pastry chef once you start working with someone in their Private Dining department (which acts as a go-betwen).

    • Carrie

Can you deliver a Mickey Mouse cake to the Wolfgang Puck restaurant and write Happy Birthday on the plate?

    • Carrie
      March 7, 2013

The information on this site is for Disney-owned restaurants only. You would need to contact Wolfgang Puck’s directly to find out what their options are for a cake. Unfortunately, the Mickey Mouse cake is not going to be one of them.

I have reservations at Epcot’s Coral Reef Restaurant and was hoping to get a cake ordered in advance to congratulate my dad on his retirement. However, he would need a no sugar added or healthier option. Do you know if this is possible? Thanks!

Disney offers what they call an “allergy-free” cake, but it still has sugar. The ingredients can be found at the bottom of this page. I’d call the number and chat with a real person to see if they can do anything custom to help you out.

Thanks so much! Do you know if it’s possible to get nutrition information on any of the cakes?

You should be able to get this by speaking with them. If the contact doesn’t have it s/he can try to get it from the chefs, or possibly refer you to the department that handles special dietary requirements at Walt Disney World.

Does the Contemporary deliver fancy fondant cakes to Be Our Guest in Fantasyland?

    • Carrie
      February 14, 2013

Right now they are evaluating these orders case by case. BOG doesn’t have room to store elaborate cakes yet, so it depends on whether they can accommodate the cake you want. Definitely talk with the pastry team at the Contemporary to see if they can do what you want: [email protected]

    Hi,
I’ve read a lot about $75 delivery fees for cakes. If we have a cake delivered from a different location, but it’s the bakery you have listed (for instance, Contemporary for Ft Wilderness dining) do they charge the delivery fee?

    Thanks!

    • Carrie
      February 5, 2013

In the past I’ve been charged $75 by the Grand Floridian for delivery of a cake to a place they don’t usually service (in our case, a party in Epcot). But since most places are serviced by one of the Deluxe resort bakeries, you can just order from the appropriate one and not have to pay a fee. Ft. Wilderness is one of the places serviced by the Contemporary Bakery, so no fee there. 🙂

Hi, My husband is coming home for 15 days from Afghanistan and we are taking our kids and Grandkids to DisneyWorld and staying at Shades of Green Military resort. I want to get a very special cake for Feb 16 as we are celebrating a promotion for him and our 30th wedding anniversary.
But I have no idea how to go about this, please advise.
    Thank you!

What a happy occasion! To have a cake delivered to a Disney restaurant, call the Cake Hotline at 407-827-2253. If you want it delivered to Shades of Green, you’ll need to call the resort and see if they offer cakes. The Grand Floridian or the Contemporary *might* work some extra magic to deliver you a cake there, but because SOG is not a Disney-owned resort, they don’t normally service it. Another option is just to call a local bakery like It’s Tasty Too, Anna Cakes or Bake Me a Cake and see if they’d deliver to SOG. Have fun!

    Hi!
Checking in on Nov 29th to Jambo for 10 nights. Its our 34 wedding anniversary.

If I order a cake to be delivered to our room:

Does it need to be refrigerated?

Can Milk be delivered with it?

What time are they delivered? We will arrive around 4ish (depending on the ME). We have dining reservations at Jiko at 5. I would love it to be delivered in the evening sometime so we can have it as a bed-time dessert.

    Thanks!

It’s usually best if you can refrigerate leftover cake, but if the filling is buttercream rather than mousse, it won’t spoil if left out. It’ll just get melty. You can order anything off the regular private dining menu, like milk, since that’s who’ll be delivering your cake. You tell Private Dining what time you want the cake delivered when you call them to place the order for the cake. Happy anniversary!

I usually search flickr.com with my terms (like “Christmas penguin cake”) for inspiration, but you can also see examples of past Disney cakes on the DISboards in their multiple massive cake threads here, here and here.

Is the mini cake really nice and special or just really small?

I’m thinking if it’s special, maybe to do that instead of a bigger cake, since we are on the dining plan and will all be getting dessert anyway.

    Thanks!

    • Carrie
      August 31, 2012

There’s no one standard design for the mini cakes, so it’s up to you on how special you want it to be. I think they’re great no matter what they look like, though, and it’s a great size when you don’t need a lot of dessert.

I’m looking into ordering a 6inch $21 cake from Fort Wilderness for my parents anniversary the night we are having dinner at the Hoop-Dee-Do Review in October. Do you know if they can write a message on the top of that cake, or if I have to purchase one of the more expensive ones for that?

    • Carrie
      August 10, 2012

The 6-inchers are too small to have a message written on them—usually they write it on the plate or on a piece of white chocolate that they slap on the cake. If you’re ordering in advance, you can ask about it when you call.

My fiance and I are not getting married in Disney, but plan to have a family wedding celebration dinner at Les Chefs de Paris (Bistro de Paris closed for renovations after we’d made reservations there). We would like to have a multi-layer wedding cake for the end of our dinner, but according to your list, a 10-inch cake is the largest option at Les Chefs de Paris for our 12-person party. How can I go about still having a multi-layer wedding cake served at our party?

    • Carrie
      August 7, 2012

Because Chefs de France is not a Disney restaurant, there are no custom cake options available at that location. In general, I suggest that people move their reservation to a restaurant where they can get a fancy cake (in Epcot, that’s just Coral Reef, Garden Grill and Le Cellier). The only other thing you could try is begging and pleading with Yacht & Beach Club Bakery to deliver to Chefs de France (again, not Disney owned, not on Y&BC’s approved delivery list, but maybe if you mention the wedding….). Alternatively, if you’re staying at a Disney resort, it would be easiest to have the cake delivered to your room.

Yes! Look under Fort Wilderness in the list …which I guess will direct you to look under The Contemporary for details! 🙂

Quick question – are the mini cakes large enough for me to request writing as part of the decoration or would it be better suited to have the writing be in chocolate on the plate and leave the cake simple and clean? Thanks!! PS- I love all your information – SOOO helpful.

    • Carrie
      July 19, 2012

When you do a mini cake, they write the message on the plate. Glad you find the info helpful!

Picking it up at the food court is an option I can do. But I wonder if they would be able to deliver the cake to our room while we are away so it’s there when we get back?

If they do the latter, than that’s definately what I’m going to do. If not, then food court pickup it is!

    Thanks.

          August 25, 2012

Right—the Deluxe Resorts have no problem delivering to guest rooms. But since the Value Resorts don’t have a Private Dining department, it can be a crapshoot whether you can get something delivered to a room there. I’m happy to say Art of Animation is delivering a cake to my room in October, so hopefully the other Values will too!

Hi, I have a reservation at Fulton’s Crab House in Downtown Disney. Will I be able to have a custom cake delivered here? Or even a regular 6 inch cake?

    Thanks.

    • Carrie
      July 5, 2012

Disney doesn’t service Fulton’s, so you have to order directly from them. Their only option is a chocolate cake that feeds 8-10 for $49.99. They can write a name on it, but that’s about it for customization. If you’re staying at a Disney resort, I’d suggest having Disney do the cake and deliver it there. Or, if you can go offsite, picking one up at Publix.

        Thanks for the fast reply!

How late do they offer cake delivery for All Star Movies Resort? I ask because my girlfriend and I probably won’t be getting back to our room until about 11:30-12 or so. We have dinner reservations at 5:50 and Cirque Du Soleil tickets for 9:00.

Maybe I could do it when we go back to our hotel to change before we go eat? IDK.

        Any suggestions?

        Thanks!!!

          July 6, 2012

At the Deluxe Resorts, Private Dining can’t deliver after 10pm, but since there’s no Private Dining at the All-Stars it may be an anything-goes situation. I would definitely ask the person you talk to when you place the order. They might make you pick it up at the food court, which maybe you could do when you go back to change.

Hi! The instructions in this post are for delivering cakes to Disney-owned resorts and restaurants. For delivery to a private residence I would suggest looking into local cake bakeries like Anna Cakes, Bake Me a Cake, Sprinkles and It’s Tasty Too (all of which have been recommended by Disney brides). Disney Floral and Gifts would probably deliver to her apartment if it’s close enough to Disney property, but you may find that local or national florists are cheaper. Hope this helps!
